RESEARCH SCIENTIST(Seeking qualified candidates who meet the following requirements)Background: This work will involve the development of sensor, exploitation, and decision technology and systems for application to battle space awareness, targeting, command and control, and supporting infrastructure. The programs will create new capabilities in a dynamic, closed-loop process and will address the synergies between (a) appropriate sensor design, sensor control and data exploitation capabilities; (b) dynamic battle management systems; and (c) supporting infrastructure. This will encompass planning, monitoring, data collection and analysis, system analysis, evaluation, assessment, and documentation. Typical tasks include: technology assessment, system assessment, research support, and specialized engineering services. Description:
Provides flexible and urgent response
capabilities to primary research, development, and other kinds of support needed
for sponsored programs. Provides professional support services to conduct or
evaluate studies and analyze areas of technology that are of interest to the
sponsor. This assessment provides the basis upon which the sponsor can structure
programs using past and current areas of technology. As an individual researcher
and consultant, formulates and guides the attack on problems of exceptional
difficulty and marked importance. Problems are characterized by their lack of
scientific precedents and source material, or lack of success of prior research
and analysis so that their solution would represent an advance of great
significance and importance. Performs advisory and consulting work as a
recognized authority for broad program areas or in an intensely specialized area
of considerable novelty and importance. Education
and Experience: A
Master’s degree in a recognized engineering, scientific, or technical
discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Individuals at
this level demonstrate a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature
judgment in planning, organizing, and guiding extensive systems integration
programs and activities of outstanding novelty and importance. Typically is
recognized as a national or international leader in a particular area of
specialization. Ten (10) years of progressively more complex experience. Must
have or be capable of obtaining a security clearance rating of a minimum of
SECRET by the start work date.
